1. Project Overview

Relying on the abundant local limestone resources in Inner Mongolia, the project processes desulfurization stone powder and supplies it to local power plants for use.

Equipment composition: a VRM1900 vertical mill (500kw), feeder, elevator, raw material bin, screw feeder, vertical mill, dust collector, fan and control cabinet, etc.

2. Workflow

When the limestone vertical mill is running, limestone is crushed, stored, and then transferred to the mill for grinding. The grinding process turns the limestone into powder, and after selection, the qualified powder becomes the final product.

When the limestone vertical mill is operational, the internal hot blast stove typically generates hot air. Depending on the production conditions, a fuel-fired or coal-fired hot blast stove can be chosen to ensure continuous evaporation of water from the raw materials. This process guarantees that the moisture content of the finished product produced by the limestone vertical mill remains within the specified range. To enhance the production efficiency of the limestone vertical mill, the system can be modified to include the installation and adjustment of slag return, thus improving production efficiency.

3. Advantages and Features

  • The limestone vertical mill operates with high grinding efficiency and low operating costs. It utilizes the principle of material layer grinding, resulting in low energy consumption. Power consumption is 20% to 30% lower than that of a ball mill. Additionally, the grinding body experiences minimal wear and has a high utilization rate. The roller sleeve can be turned over for extended use, which helps to prolong its service life.
  • Low investment and construction costs. The simple structure of the limestone vertical mill makes its construction area only 70% of that of the ball mill. The simple process flow and smaller footprint make the construction cost relatively low.
  • Simple operation and maintenance, easy and convenient operation. Equipped with the automatic control system, it can realize remote control, which makes the operation simpler and easier. In addition, there is a device to prevent direct contact between the roller sleeve and the grinding disc liner, to avoid crushing and violent vibration.
  • The limestone vertical mill has a large drying capacity and is suitable for a wide range of materials. It can dry and mill materials with a moisture content of up to 15%, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. In comparison, a drying ball mill can only dry materials with a moisture content of 3-4%.
